Founder & CEO of Wondercide, an Austin, Texas company on a mission to protect pets and their families from bugs with plant-powered solutions that are as safe as they are effective.
I founded Wondercide after my dog Luna became gravely ill. The vet suspected the use of conventional flea-and-tick control and yard pesticides was the cause. I nursed Luna back to health with a more holistic approach to wellness, and knew there had to be a better way to protect her from fleas and ticks. With nothing natural on the market that also worked, I was driven by fierce love for Luna to develop a solution myself. Wondercide was born, and Luna lived another six years as I grew the company from a makeshift lab in my garage to an innovative industry leader.
The phenomenal growth of Wondercide got noticed and in 2016, I appeared on the hit TV show, Shark Tank. I earned the highest valuation for a female-run company in the show’s history to that date and an offer from three Sharks. I accepted the offer from Lori Greiner on air, but was brave enough to walk away from the deal because I trusted my gut that it would be better for the company in the long run. Trusting your heart as well as your head is just one reason for my achievements. Other values that helped catapult my success as CEO: grit, limit-pushing, resilience, and always leveling up with courage.
Luna’s legacy lives on, and more than 2 million families have been protected by Wondercide, thanks to unrelenting determination to protect packs of every kind, everywhere.
