Demystifying DCM with Flo Mason from Crude Carnivore

Demystifying DCM with Flo Mason from Crude Carnivore

DCM is a genetic condition in some breeds of dogs, but since 2018 the public has been in a scare over the potential for diet related DCM (Dilated Cariomyopathy).

Flo Mason from Crude Carnivore and I dive into this topic - specifically the "grain free" myth and discuss what we prefer in diets for dogs as canine nutritionists.

After I graduated with a bachelor's degree in animal production from Southern Illinois University I was adamant to commence my career in rehabilitation and therapy for dogs and horses, but my plan shifted when I got the opportunity to get a Master's degree in Companion Animal Nutrition.

Just two months in I saw a local natural pet market opened in my college town and I walked in and said "If you ever need help, please let me know!". Fast forward a couple years and I was helping pet parents with their nutritional needs and guiding them through dietary struggles, sensitivities and disease; creating healthier, happier pets.

In 2019 I explored my own calling and came up with the idea to curate the first ever herb-infused, grass-fed, pasture-raised bone broth for dogs and cats. Crude Carnivore was born and our goal was to hydrate and heal with diet.

We are now four years old and love being able to provide pet parents with a powerhouse healing broth that their dogs and cats love. We are so excited to see what the future has in store and to continue educating pet parents on how much bone broth can make a difference.
